Light House Denver – Devika Sari, an Asemrowo Sub-district staff member, clarified the viral incident where she hid under the office desk of Sub-district Head Muhammad Khusnul Amin. Devika explained the sequence of events that led to the situation.
On Monday morning, January 6, 2025, Muhammad Khusnul Amin called Devika to his office to attend a Zoom meeting about programs and innovations. Devika did not attend the meeting alone since other staff members were also present in the room.
During the preparation, loud shouts from outside the office startled everyone inside. A group of individuals approached the sub-district office, banged on the door, and demanded to meet Muhammad Khusnul Amin. The crowd forced their way into the office, creating panic.
Devika admitted that she felt terrified and decided to hide under the desk. She explained that the incident caused her significant trauma.

“I hid under the sub-district head’s desk because I felt scared, not because of any inappropriate actions with him,” said Devika during a press conference at the Asemrowo Sub-district office on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
She explained her actions further, stating that the chaotic situation made her panic. “I thought about leaving the room, but I saw several people entering with their phones recording. So, I returned under the desk,” she added.
Devika rejected the accusations in the viral video that suggested an inappropriate relationship with the sub-district head. She clarified that another staff member, Alfian Syarifudin, stayed in the room with her and Amin during the incident.
“My clothes remained intact, and nothing inappropriate happened. There were three of us in the room: myself, Mr. Alfian, and the sub-district head. All staff members and the secretariat know that Mr. Alfian and I entered the room at around 10 a.m. to coordinate with the sub-district head,” said Devika.
Alfian confirmed Devika’s account and shared his perspective. He admitted that the crowd outside caused him to panic during the situation.
“Mr. Amin called Ms. Devika and me to his office to prepare an innovation proposal for the Zoom meeting. While we discussed the proposal, the shouting outside escalated, and the door was forced open,” said Alfian.
He described the chaotic atmosphere and his own reaction. “The group’s aggressive behavior made me panic. I felt extremely nervous because of the loud shouting and the number of people trying to enter,” Alfian added.
The viral video showed members of a community organization raiding the office. In the video, a man confronted Muhammad Khusnul Amin, questioning his service to the community.
“This is your office, and we want proper communication. Why don’t you serve us? This office belongs to the community. Look at who’s here,” said the man in a loud voice.
Another man in the video forced his way into the sub-district head’s office, claiming that Amin hid a woman inside.
“Let’s go into the sub-district head’s office. Everyone, come here. There’s a woman inside. Look for her,” shouted the man while recording the scene.
This incident sparked widespread discussion after the video spread on social media. Devika’s clarification aimed to address the rumors and explain the circumstances that led to her actions during the commotion.
